Seeing the flowers makes Grantaire’s heart lurch painfully, and his chest tightens. Enjolras seems to grow angrier and angrier when the coughing starts interrupting his speeches, so much that Combeferre has to take over after pushing a glass of water towards him, and he casts the flowers to the ground, glaring at them.
